Barot valley is easily accessible by road. Barot is 25 kms from Nation highway 21. In NH 21 diversion to Barot at Ghatasni which is situated 40 km from Mandi and 55 kms from Palampur in Pathankot Manali Highway 21.If you are adventure loving and trekker you have a option of using haulage trolly from Jogindernagar to winch camp which runs at 0930 hrs and 1530 hrs daily. Houlage trolly is used by Sannan hydro project (first hydro project in India) to carry their stuff to Winch camp. Trek from winch camp and follow train route to Barot. (winch camp). This route reduce the journey by 12 kms.


How to get there – Barot:

Barot is 65 Kms from Mandi and 80 kms from Palampur.


By Road
Barot is well connected via road from all major cities. Barot is situated 25 km off NH 20. The diversion to Barot is at a village, Ghatasani, 14 km from Joginder Nagar and 35 km from Mandi. This by-road passes through Jhatingri and Tikkan. From Tikkan, the road runs along the Uhl river till Barot. A major portion of this road is single lane, though not one way. Barot is connected by public buses to Mandi, Jogindernagar and Palampur. Regular taxi services are also available at reasonable cost. Buses plying to Kothikodh, Bada Gran and Luhardi also pass through Barot.


By Train
The closest railway station is at Jogindernagar (narrow Gauge) and Pathankot (Broad Gauge). A haulage trolley of the British times connects Barot to Jogindernagar. This trolley link was set up to facilitate transport of construction material to Barot for a reservoir on Uhl river for Shanan Power House.


By Air
By air from Delhi to Bhunter(Kullu) or Gaggal(Kangra) airport and then by Taxi to Barot, you can easily reach the Barot.
